Many of our clients ask us similar questions regarding anti-wrinkle injections. Here are a few :
1. What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections are referred to as ‘Botox’ which is short for Botulinum toxin. This is a naturally occurring protein that causes the muscles of the face to relax, hence smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. It is the UK’s most popular cosmetic treatment for the removal of wrinkles.
2. What age is best for anti-wrinkle injections?
The earlier the better! Anti-wrinkle injections are used as a prevention, not a cure! The injections help to prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
3. Will I look frozen?
No, we believe less is more at Gold Angels Aesthetics. Botulinum toxin can be very subtle, and we encourage clients to have some movement. An experienced injector will know how many units to inject so that you look natural and don’t lose all your facial movements. The injections reduce muscle activity. We always advise a 2-week review where we assess and offer top-up treatments, free of charge.
4. How long do the results last?
The results last between 4 to 5 months, after which you may wish to return for another treatment.
5. Is it painful?
The procedure is largely pain-free, with the exception of mild discomfort which is experienced due to the small needle injection involved. You may notice a small stinging sensation at the injection site directly after the treatment, but this should subside quickly.
6. Are the injections safe?
Botulinum toxin has been in medical use for more than four decades, and it is administered in such a way that it only affects your muscles and sweat glands – it does not reach any other part of the body. As long as it is administered by a qualified medical professional, the risks are extremely minimal.
7. Will I get addicted to having Botulinum toxin?
Most of our clients come back for more treatments because they simply love the wrinkle-free results! However, it is entirely your choice when to stop further treatments.
